Keri Morton

Hello!

This is my 3rd year as a school social worker at Sand Creek Elementary and love working for DCSD! Prior to this, I was a social worker for Jeffco Public Schools and have also worked in residential treatment facilities as well as day treatment centers. I received my Masters in Social Work at the University of Denver and my Bachelors in Psychology at Westminster College. I am a Licensed Social Worker, working toward my LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I am passionate about supporting students with their social and emotional needs to function optimally in the classroom environment and beyond.

As a school social worker, I am a member of the Special Education team and support students who need social and emotional skill development in order to succeed in the general education classroom. I also work to provide school wide interventions to support healthy social/ emotional growth in all students, provide short term groups for general education students who are struggling in the classroom setting and intervene in crisis situations.
