The Eagle's Nest

Meet Mrs. Sue Lyons, Behavior Technician

At Sand Creek Elementary, we are committed to helping every student feel successful and ready to learn each day. The Eagle’s Nest Program provides structured, short-term interventions for students who need additional help meeting school-wide expectations.

Mrs. Sue coordinates Eagle’s Nest as part of our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), working closely with staff to ensure consistent and timely interventions.

Eagle’s Nest provides Tier 2 interventions for students who need additional help beyond classroom-wide strategies. The focus is on building skills that increase engagement, independence, and success in the classroom.

Interventions include Check-In/Check-Out, guided practice of school-wide expectations, and direct coaching in classroom tools and strategies. Staff provide instruction in behavior expectations, self-regulation, and executive functioning skills.

The counselor and/or behavior technician works through established school procedures to provide brief, targeted interventions in both classroom and structured settings as needed, with an emphasis on helping students return to instruction.

The goal of the Eagle’s Nest Program is to strengthen skills and increase positive engagement in learning.
