Dear Parents,

Thank you for being kind and patient as we navigate together through the unchartered territory of Remote Learning.  I have enjoyed talking with your kids through email and next week, we, as a homeroom class, will gather on Monday at 9:30 a.m. to reconnect. A Google Join invite will be sent to your child this weekend.

Homeroom:

Daily Prompts are sent out every morning, along with written examples.  Daily Prompts should be written on an MLA document.  The students have been taught how to format MLA during class.  Submit Day is Friday afternoon, with all of the writing pieces on one MLA document.

EBooks have just been added to our website, so I will give the kids a few choices when we meet on Monday and we will begin another Homeroom read. I am thinking we can meet, via Google Meets  3 xs a week during our homeroom read-aloud time, 11:40-12:10.  I was hoping we would all watch Bridge to Terabithia together. Unfortunately, that did not happen.  You may want to watch the movie together as a family.  Make sure to have tissues ready!

Math:

This week was a review with no new lessons assigned.  Before Spring Break, I assigned pages in Eureka, Math Module 4. On Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. we will join together on Google Meets to review and go over any questions the students might have.  I will be recording Math lessons beginning on Tuesday and the students can watch them and email me with questions.  Meeting at our scheduled Math time, 10:30-11:45, 3xs a week,  seems to be the expected norm for right now.  We can modify that as needed.

Language Arts:

All students should be reading their assigned novels.  Questions for their novels were sent out on Tuesday through Google Docs.  Monday at 2:00 p.m. will be our first meeting as a class and we can discuss how to have book discussions with their assigned book groups.  Novel questions, with assigned pages, will be sent out every Tuesday and Thursday with book questions or projects. Students can always read ahead.

Social Studies:

Students have until the end of the week for their assigned postcard and Southwestern map.
