Reading: Fourth graders are encouraged to read outside of school daily. Our guideline is 30 minutes each day.

Math: In our differentiated math groups we assign homework each day, Monday through Thursday. Typically this is a skill practice sheet, fact practice, iReady Math, or "Choice" of strategy and logic games.

Also, we are striving to spend 45 minutes each week between home and school on iReady Reading and the same for iReady Math lessons. Students know how to check and monitor their amount of time in the "My Progress" tab.

If a student does not complete his/her classwork, they are often asked to complete it at home.

A Little About Me:
I love being outdoors! Whether it be walking, paddle boarding, camping, boating, traveling, playing, hiking, biking or simply being. My love for the outdoors is shared with my husband and teenage daughter too. (She is a former Sand Creeker herself!) Our home is filled with books for the girls, videography and film related items for my husband, along with two lovable cats!

Teaching Approach / Philosophy:
Each individual has talents and strengths which shine with nurturing. In our Sand Creek community each child is treasured. I believe that education opens the door to life long learning which enriches us and brings success in life. I aim to share the joy and enthusiasm I find through learning with the students who come to our school.

Teaching Background:
I have spent 27 years in education across grades 3, 4, & 5.  My first years of teaching were in my home state of Connecticut. I then taught in Colorado Springs before coming to Douglas County Schools.  Way back in the year 2000 I joined the Sand Creek Community and have happily called this school my work place home ever since!
