Reading Bags Homework

Your child's reading bag will contain familiar books that we have gone over in class. These books are for your child to be able to read independently. Some books may be easy, but are meant for your child to practice expression and fluency as well as build confidence. Please know that all books do not have to be read every day. Please continue to remind your child to bring book bags every day.

After reading the book, ask your child comprehension questions about the story.

  • Who are the main characters?

  • What happened in the beginning, middle, and end?

  • What connections can you make with the story?

  • What does the story remind you of?reading

Homework should not exceed more than 30 minutes a night. Our purpose is to build responsibility and practice skills.

  • Read nightly for 10-15 minutes from their reading bags.

  • Fundations- Please see resources for ways to practice with your child.

  • Math-

  • i-Ready- online lessons (one reading & one math per week).

  • Friday Folders- Please review items and return folders on Mondays.
