My name is Liz Smith, and I am a fourth grade teacher at Sand Creek Elementary. I have a long history at SCE with both of my son's graduating from this school. Throughout the year, I have been a parent, an educational assistant, substitute teacher, and now a full time teacher! I recently earned my Master's Degree in Education, and I look forward to many years of watching the kids of SCE grow and learn. In addition to my two boys, I have a 29 year old daughter who lives in NYC, and works for the NYPD. In my free time, I love to hang out with my kids and furry friends, visit the ocean, and make jewelry.

I earned my degree in Education from the University of Colorado Boulder and have spent the past few years working with students in Boulder Valley School District. I’m passionate about creating strong relationships with my students and am so excited to be part of this amazing community!
Hello! My name is Shelby Awada, and I am excited to join Sand Creek Elementary as a 4th grade teacher. I have spent the past six years teaching 4th grade in Colorado Springs and recently moved to the Highlands Ranch area.
