PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) at SCE:
Our school proudly implements SOAR Expectations as part of our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. SOAR stands for Be Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Respectful, and it serves as the foundation for promoting positive behaviors and interactions among students and staff. The primary goal of SOAR is to create a safe and effective environment for teaching and learning where all members of our school community feel valued and respected.

Explicit Teaching and Reinforcement
SOAR expectations are posted throughout the school and explicitly taught to all students. These expectations are incorporated into our classroom management plans, and positive behaviors are consistently taught and reinforced by all staff members, ensuring a unified approach to behavior expectations across all areas of our school community.
PBIS Rewards Program
We utilize an online PBIS Rewards program to recognize students for demonstrating SOAR behaviors. Students earn points for making positive behavior choices and utilize those points to earn fun experiences such as game time with the principal, lunch with their teacher, reading with their kindergarten friends, extra recess with their class, or other tangible items.
