Meet Ms. Sue Lyons, Behavior Technician

Ms. Sue assists SCE’s Mental Health Team and Teachers in implementing procedures and strategies to support students. She manages The Eagle’s Nest Program.

Our Eagles' Nest program serves as a nurturing space where students learn to regulate their emotional state and alertness to their environment. Proactive strategies such as the Check-in/Check-out system, scheduled breaks, and teacher and student-requested breaks are implemented to support students' social-emotional well-being.

We provide proactive lessons that explicitly teach coping skills for behavior expectations, emotional regulation, and executive functioning. Our counselor or behavior technician typically responds as first responders to walkie calls, supporting students in and out of the classroom and explicitly teaching them how to access classroom tools and coping strategies.
