I am honored to serve as the principal at Sand Creek Elementary School. This school year marks my seventeenth year as a public educator. I am originally from Wisconsin and received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with an emphasis in Broadfield Social Studies. I hold two Master’s degrees, one in Education with a specific focus on Quality Schools from Graceland University and the second in Administration from Argosy University. Prior to joining the Sand Creek family, I was an assistant principal at Cimarron Middle School for four years. Before this experience, I was a dean at Roxborough Intermediate. Finally, I taught a wide array of social studies courses, from AP Psychology to Geography, at both the high school and middle school levels for eleven years.

My goal as a educator has always been to dream, to create, to battle for students, to spread positivity, and to inspire others to know that one person can make a difference. I believe Sand Creek Elementary is truly an amazing school full of wonderful opportunities for all students.

Our mission statement says it all:

At Sand Creek Elementary, our mission is to provide opportunities for growth, knowledge, and creativity that instill core values for all students and stakeholders.

With this mission statement always at the forefront of our thinking, we continually strive for a learning environment that is supportive of all students.

Please contact me at (303)387-6600 if I can be of assistance throughout the school year.

 Go Eagles!

Sand Creek Elementary is an amazing place to call home. As the new Assistant Principal I am in awe every day by our staff, students, and the community.

I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Additionally, I earned a Master’s degree from DU in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Literacy, and a second Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Regis University. I have worked in four districts throughout my 13 years in education, and could not be happier to return to Douglas County.

Previously, I taught Kindergarten through 3rd Grade, was an interventionist for reading and math, and served as a district level coach on an instructional and professional development team. My passion for literacy, working with teachers, and most importantly helping create a lightbulb moment for a student leading to a lifelong learner motivates me daily! While I may not be on the ground floor teaching a classroom of eager learners, I am blessed on a daily basis to be able to impact and work with the incredibly SCE teachers and staff, support students, come alongside parents, and team up with a truly phenomenal community. Please feel free to reach out via email or phone if I can be of any assistance this year.
